WIFI 802.11
Acronyms Wireless Fidelity, the term for the technology-based Wireless 802.11 standard.
- 802.11 is a specification standard which is built by defining the IEEE for wireless LAN technology and approved in 1997.
- Acronym WLAN Wireless Local Area Network. A local network that uses high frequency radio to transmit data between a starting point, the function replaces the conventional cable in the network.
WiFi communication using the IEEE 802.11b standard at speeds of 11 Mbps, only
coverage area does not reach more than hundreds of meters only.
802.11 is the IEEE standard for indoor W-LAN
Benefits Wifi
- Advantages of the system is the WIFI is not limited space and limited only by the distance range from a point transmitter WIFI. Distance to the system is able to reach a WIFI area 100feet or 30m radius.
- 802.11 have been levying of very cheap, compared to 802.16 which is still working on the 3GHz
WiMAX (802.16)
- Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is the industry standard of duty menginterkoneksikan various technical standards that are to be a global unity
- WiMAX technology is cheaper than other broadband technologies like Digital Subscriber line (DSL) or cable modem
- 802.16 WLAN standard for outdoor
- WiMAX is a radio communication channel that allows the occurrence of two-way path from the internet distance of tens of kilometers. By using radio waves, this technology can be used with different frequency, in accordance with the conditions and regulations in the frequency of the user.
- At first IEEE 802.16 standard operating frequency is 10-66 GHz and require line of sight tower, but the development of IEEE 802.16a is adopted in March 2004, using a lower frequency of the 2-11 GHz, so easy to set up and does not require line-of-sight. Coverage area that can dicoverage about 50 km and data transfer speeds of 70 Mbps.
Benefits of WiMAX
- Plans telecommunications investment can save the device, because the ability of WiMAX to serve customers with a wider area and with a higher compatibility.
- User will receive a final choice in many berinternet.WiMAX is one technology that can facilitate us to connect to the Internet easily and quality.
- In terms of coverage is only 50 kilometers to reach the maximum, WiMAX has contributed a very large presence for wireless MAN.
- Able to serve the Subscriber, whether that be in the position of line of sight (LOS) and that allows for no line of sight (NLOS)
