Fixie (fixed gear), which means a bicycle with rear wheel gear system is dead. This system is commonly called doltrap or flywheel, spinning wheels pedal to wherever will follow it either forward or backward. The bike uses doltrap can walk backwards if digowes reversed, the system is owned by a rodeo (a bicycle wheel) and pedicabs. So for brakes, we must reverse the pedal as hard as possible. The downside of doltrap is when fast moving bike, pedals will spin the same hardness as to be difficult for lay-offs. Fixie bikes are typically equipped with front brakes.
Along with taste and preference is modified with a fixie bike using torpedoes. Torpedo easier to use than doltrap, because when the tire rotates the pedals do not spin unless digowes participate, and if digowes retreat will lock the wheels so it stops.
There is also a flip flop hub with a system. This is a system doltrap and torpedoes in a single hub that can be changed at will by simply reversing the tire (wheel sets).
This type of hub used bikes in general in the world using this type of free wheel. If digowes forward then the wheels will go forward, if digowes retreat no effect on the wheel, and use the brakes to stop the wheel.
Why was converted into a fixie? Why not just be a racing bike? That is one question my friend. The reason for building a fixie is much cheaper and does not require expensive spare parts, different if I build a racing bike with parts ranging from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.
How mengeremnya? With digowes retreat. That's typical fixie bike, in this case we have to get used to the brakes on a bicycle with digowes retreat, but for safety's sake there is no harm in adding a front brake.
Why single speed? because the torpedo, or doltrap can not use the cassette as one of the requirements multispeed bike, (although there are three speed internal hub that uses a torpedo system) other than that, because the bike is a minimalist fixie. Clean, with no cables whatsoever.
Why should self-assemble? Because a lot cheaper if we assemble itself. Some brands of bikes like the Specialized or Giant issued a fixie bike that cost too high than if we build it yourself from an old bicycle whose budgets can be set according to our abilities.
Should the racing bike frame? Generally yes, but also mountain bike frame can be converted to fixie. Because fixie bike will look pretty using a rim 700 (rim racing bike), then it is easier if the initially modified from bike racing.
Should it be of steel frame? Since most bike fixie modified from an old bicycle that was made of iron so easy to weld and established, and moreover be a pity if you have a racing frame with aluminum or carbon converted into a fixie (better stick to racing bikes).
Is it safe to wear fixie? Look for an experienced workshop fixie. Fixie bike though mild, but not designed for speed. In addition to its single speed, or torpedo doltrap rather difficult if you have to brake suddenly, because that can add security to the front brake. Fixie bike frame mountain bikes are also not as strong as when struck at high speed holes. If you want speed, you better put on a racing bike.
