This research is motivated by an assumption that in the novel Laskar Pelangi have educational messages of Islam. This study aims to determine the messages contained Islamic education in the novel Laskar Pelangi.
This study is the research library (library research), by making the novel Laskar Pelangi as the main source of reference and other relevant and representative as a source of support.
By using the method of content analysis (content analysis) and a normative approach, this research produces findings:
First: Education faith includes thanksgiving to God, the creation of man by God, stay away from polytheism, the power of God, religious conversion (to convert to Islam), fate, and mercy of God.
Second: Education worship is prayer time.
Third: character education, including the struggle, ethical educators, do not complain, desire and action for change, helpful and friendly, optimistic, trustworthy, devoted to parents, honest, ethical men of knowledge (scientists), the ethics hearing the call to prayer, discipline, wanted to ideals, has sifatyang good, strong determination, away from despair, and stay istiqomah (consistent).
Fourth: social education, including compassion for others, selfless devotion, kindness amar nahi evil, friendship, work, consultation, unity, Silaturrahmi, and peace.
Fifth: The Education of reason, including reading, observing (observation), seeking information related to science, and thinking.
Sixth: the education skills that support life skills.
Seventh: Health education is away and not smoking.
